Your Decisions

Are you one who can make good and practical decisions
And not require forever to make those decisions?
Maybe, like most, it will vary according to pertinent circumstances.
We also realize there are emergencies with no warning in advance.

Some decisions are more critical because your choice
Today will influence many of your future choices.
We don't sweat too much the minor things, not so critical,
But when big matters hang in the balance, it gets pitiful.

And we know full well that what is best today
May, tomorrow, be disaster in every way.
We live in an "iffy" world, and if and when you make a choice
That holds up substantially, you quietly say a "thank you, God," prayer and rejoice.

We can only choose based on the facts involved and a lot of hope,
But we all know people who rush ahead and feel that's the way to cope.
Well, maybe by sheer luck they got a winner,
Maybe about as often as those who "ponder and weigh" as patience grows thinner.

Oh well, We take what we've got and do our best.
Sometimes it really boils down to a second guess,
But we, as a rule, do measure all the factors involved
Before we turn it loose and feel it's truly solved.
