Who? Me?
Who? Me? That was mostly a childhood question that kept cropping up.
It could have been an unexpected compliment, a surprise from a grown up,
Or some playmate that was not quite sure who was meaning whom.
I suppose that's one way we learn as we, one day, do assume.
Sometimes it's a peasant surprise you hear, makes you feel great,
As if you're doing okay in your personal relationships, and you can't wait
To hear that next commendation. Positive input builds confidence,
Which insures a more confident outlook that will inspire and convince.
Of course, we all prefer to hear the positive input. Maybe that is how and why
We see individuals who know who "me" is, and are sure of the "why."
When you consider the "me" who is always criticized and put down,
That "me" really carries a question mark full of doubt all the way around.
