Whichever Way

I do not know if I will go before He comes
But either way, I know that He's prepared a home
Just across the way on the other side
Beyond that river that's mighty and wide.

At this time, in this space I am in a learning process
Which, at intervals, has been difficult I confess.
When the lessons are learned and there's no more doubt
About my purpose here and the circuitous route,

He will direct my days that are remaining
For what may be called a time of regaining
The time that was spent in lessons learned
And to pass along some answers for which I was ever concerned.

Whichever way my life may serve mankind the best,
Let it be fulfilled, able and steadfast to pass the test.
When I see Jesus again, I'm trusting He can say,
"Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Come on home to stay."
