When Denial Is All One Has Left

How do we become enslaved to this crutch to get us through?
We rationalize that if we never admit or accept responsibility for what we do -
Then we're excused by all the world and we are free to deny some more.
And you are forever lying to the world and yourself - just the same as before.

Excess is excess in any form, and denial is the excuse that hounds your steps,
And even your denial is in excess, and you become so experienced and adept
At this facade, it just becomes a second nature that fuels your existence.
And to change would require a complete renovation and to learn resistance.

When you finally awaken, you've probably learned that everyone is fully aware
Of your crutch and that you can fool no one any more. So you're wondering where
Can you turn now! Who will accept you as you really are, truly are?
You have to begin by proving who you are not, and then admit who you are!
