What We Inherited

Most of us feel we're referring to physical characteristics, talents or IQ.
Our blood lines and genes depend on that, also, but what about the forgotten inner you?
You can have twenty-five kids and you're gonna' find no similarity among some.
Rather frustrating - you have no blueprint and certainly no guarantee of who has come

To share your life and be your child and hopefully a lifelong wonderful friend
Who will stick by you all the way, through thick or thin.
'Course, you thought that about marriage, too, didn't you? But this is not the same.
You've birthed these and given them their name and your name!

Sometimes God smiles on us and fate is our truest friend.
Here are Gods gifts to you that will be with you to the end.
But sometimes we draw a wild card - no fault of our own
Just what our genes dished out, that our life had never known.
