To Let A Lie Just Lie
If I let a "lie" lie, then I am condoning the lie.
If I know a lie is lying there, I have to understand the "Why."
To lie, in any situation is pathetic but when someone you trust
Believes a lie, told to them, without a reason, then I must
Ask the question, "Why?" We've known each other about sixty years or so
And in all that time I always considered you "one of the best" I know.
Only good thoughts come to mind when I thought of you.
So if you heard differently, I'd like to assure you, "It ain't so."
I can not just pass it off as if it wasn't there
And I need to set the record straight whether or not you think I care.
What you believe, henceforth, is up to you but I can only say,
"I've never said a bad word about you or yours." That's all I have to say!
