This Day Shall Be

This day of days of which I've dreamed, will truly be
Yet another mile-stone on my way through life and I shall see
Reflections of the past and visions of a great tomorrow -
Filled with expected promises with no place for sorrow.

I will string these precious days, as pearls, around my soul
And glory in the fulfilled beauty I have found and hold
All this glory to my heart and treasure it forever -
For this day may not return again but its joy will linger on forever.
