The Up Side To The Down Side

That's not "upside down" nor does it mean "either or".
This anomaly is how it seems in many lives to be "neither nor".
When our lives are progressing well and it truly feels nothing could go wrong
And then one day, right out of the blue, we hear some "different song."

Then's when we get a glimpse of that foreign "other side."
And we're not real sure if this is temporary or if it'll pass as the tide.
All our lives, we're never quite sure if our happy days
Are "forever" or when fate will flip us over and show us many ways

That life can go at any time. So when we get flipped to the "down side"
Just hang on, for more than likely, the "upside" will guide
You back to the joy where all good things abide.
And with thankfulness, appreciation so deeply moves you that you cry.
