The Paradox Of Youth

The exceeding exuberance of overflowing energy that issues forth
To meet life head on with no known fear or real understanding of worth.
What you see is what it is and all the "unknowns" are just that.
Factors not yet figured in will only be acknowledged when they appear and exact

A reckoning. Now for the paradox of youth as it plays itself out.
The reality of life asserts itself and in the process leaves little doubt
That the euphoria of the ideal life learns to accept the happy middle ground
And mediate the extremes to plant our foundation on more solid ground.
