The Greenest Green I've Ever Seen

I suspect the first picture that flashes in your mind
Is the freshest, tenderest, most beautiful of all kinds
Of green, the first green of spring, when you want to enfold
That gorgeous green world, and forever and forever hold

It to your heart. It will leave its imprint there, the longest day you live,
And earth can hardly ever, in all your life, offer or give
Anything more precious or beautiful. Hold that memory to your heart,
For this is the epitome of earth's beauty. Let become a part

Of your favorite keepsakes of life on earth. It won't get much better.
The brilliant colors of spring's first life are, for a few sweet days, unfettered.
But then it becomes a personal choice of where your soul is coming from.
Of course, we all reach for our favorites memories. It's our soul's own song.
