The Great Stage Play
We each feel so unique and rightfully so,
But that uniqueness relates to how we cope
With the myriad scenes we're part of now.
Each day our lines are different as we take our bow.
We wonder what tomorrow's script will be.
No one can ever guess, the writer holds the key.
We can interpret and play the part well
But how it is accepted, we can not tell.
We like to think we're in control
But only to a degree. The story unfolds.
So many parts each one has played
To form the overall picture being portrayed.
Any time you reflect on your unusual parts
You can bet your tomorrow's script, whenever it starts,
Is being played on this stage of life in duplicate form
By some other actor who's sure his script is his own.
No matter what range of emotions are called into action
You can always know this is a small fraction
Of the showing of this same scene somewhere now.
If it's any consolation, no scene is ever new, just take your bow.
