The Games Earthlings Play

I have a vague feeling that what is real and what is not
Is shuffled on the gambling table, and not everyone gets a shot
At winning whatever game is being promoted at this time,
Even if no hanky-panky is in progress, nor some evident crime.

Those who reason wisely can untangle the deceptive web and reveal
The real from the unreal and understand the vague appeal
Involved in each. Whatever game you are involved in has some rules,
Even though they may never have been taught in school.

Many inhabitants of this planet go along to get along,
What we so quietly describe as "just clapping the time to the song."
The same game played is given many names by every player,
So hopefully, no one will ask, "What's this game we're playing?"
