Standing In And Standing Up
Have you ever felt that you were just standing in for those
Who let life live them - that they chose
To let someone else stand in because they found that eased
The everyday pressures for them, and they were pleased.
You're standing in for people who dodge responsibility
Even when they are capable of accomplishments with great possibility.
You stand in because the project has to be done and the prospects are dim
That it will get done otherwise, because this is easier for them.
I suppose you "stand-ins" finally get to the point of no return
When you are so completely fed up and now finally learn
To "stand-up" to those who use and use and never seem to lose -
And enlighten those on their lazy ways while expressing your own views!
