Some Basics Of Life

A drowning person does not question the color of the hand
That reaches out to salvage them from a certain fate, and
So it goes throughout life. There are critical issues here at stake
And only we can, in deliberation, honestly make

Decisions based on the basic facts of life, no room for bias,
Something far more crucial than incidental, self induced pious.
There are many, many incidentals we deal with throughout our lives,
But hold on to the basics when every aspect appears to be contrived.

There are many days when it's difficult to differentiate,
To understand all other matters pertaining to our fate,
To choose the basic ones to which all others do relate.
By our actions we prove this theory and even come to appreciate.
