So Many Ways
There are so many ways to say the same words, always.
Think about it. The intonation, the expression on your face, the phrase
All express meaning and intent of your words as they go forth
From your mouth to bring joy and love or bitterness. What are they worth?
Words are deeds, not yet in physical expression. Sometimes
Words are the prelude of your biography or you intent, for good or crime.
If you listen carefully, you'll hear a lot more than was said.
That alone may warn you to be careful where you tread.
When we become adept at this specific art, we're further on our way
To distinguish intent and motive, in deceptive frame, is learned along the way.
There are variations and shades of truth to end up as a lie,
And there are lies that sound a lot like a truth. Why?
Well, what the total caboodle amounts to is, some ulterior motive's at work
To make one feel important, or to hide some "slinking" ulterior hurt
That is on its way, or to cover what has already entered the record,
And you may be about to be broadsided about now - any second.
As years roll along, you eventually can read people like a book.
Similar types have certain characteristics that call for a second look.
Certain lies all start to sound a whole lot familiar, a lot the same.
Expressions on the face speak volumes, and you suddenly recognize the game.
Watch for what's showing in the window of their soul;
Their eyes speak clearer than their words, time has told.
You learn many things, and this should surely be one of them.
One must watch the eyes for when a lie is hatching, the light grows real dim.
