People Who Manipulate Words

I suspect that this is considered some kind of talent or art,
To make their words serve the purposes of their heart,
Be it positive or negative. Manipulators have ulterior motives steady.
They talk out of both sides of their mouth, the needed answer always ready.

They appear so sincere but each side contradicts the other side's message.
If you aren't alert, you may miss this contradiction and fall into their "message."
I've known some slick ones, but they weren't always as slick
As I was sharp. This comes from dealing with so many. I catch on quick!

Now, some of these know just enough to impress some unexpected victim,
And they are ever on the lookout for their next victim.
Experience, as usual, is our best teacher, so stay alert,
Or they will cause you one whole lot of hurt.
