Past The End of Your Nose

Remember when the mature population made this remark?
It covered one and all of those "coming on." It did not shed any light to the dark.
They were referring to the short sightedness of the very young.
Those behind you, whose songs aren't yet sung.

Considering how we all go that uninformed route, we forget
About the young coming on and their youthful mindset.
It's only when you've journeyed on and on and on that the older one knows
All about all that part of life that lies past the end of your nose.

Whichever route your journey takes, this simple fact
Remains as true today and tomorrow as it was way back
When you were straining to peer past the "end of your nose."
But watch as your experience and ability bloom and your knowledge grows.
