Our Varying Friendships

Our friends are only human beings just like us; however, we do pick and choose
Ones we feel we have the most in common with among the traits of who's
Who. I believe the most urgent requirement is that they have a sense of humor
And can see the lighter side from every side of other's humor.

We like them to be thoughtful and considerate and caring of other's feelings.
Oh the list goes on. And when and if we find anyone this appealing,
We usually claim them as a friend as long as we both do live.
Some friends I've had almost all my life, a long time, but they give

Of their friendship and their genuine caring. It's just a way of life to them.
If you are capable of being a good friend, this is the one, the true gem.
I have friends of every age in every part of this world,
And I wouldn't trade a one of them for all the world's money, nor its pearls.
