One Day

If I could be nearby, I'd like to say a word of kindness and cheer
To, hopefully, brighten your day and brush away any lingering tear.
Life never asks our permission in allowing our "less-than" days.
We accept it and deal with it as best we can, in our own way.

Only time can heal some sorrows and we can not know just how long
Each process will take, each in its own time! Our healing song
May last longer than we imagined but we will live past the pain!
One day, you'll be aware that the sun is shining and you can smile again.
