It's a Long Way Home

If you consider heaven as your home and God as your heavenly Father,
Then we're traveling that same road home. For us, there is no other.
Depending on how long we're about our Father's business, here on earth,
Decides our course of pursuit, almost from our day of birth.

The longer we stay, the more we can be accomplishing. That's our goal.
We'll be making earth a better place to be, not just some quest for gold.
Depending on the density of our obstacles, will determine how long
That road back home may seem. Sometimes, when you've lost your way, and your song

Got lost in the shuffle, you then ponder how many miles
Do you have left to travel this uncertain road, devoid of love and smiles.
It gets lonely, oh so lonely, but I'm here for as long as it takes
To do what I came to do. I'm clearly aware of how high the stakes.
