If You've Seen Fifty

That seems to be the top of the hill to many, many people.
They feel in their hearts they are on the biggest steeple.
Seems like at least a halfway mark. At least that means
You've plans to reach one hundred and witness a lot more scenes.

Your complete attitude toward life will influence yor hopes and dreams.
If, at fifty, you're on the skids, headed "over the hill," it will likely seem
You feel you've done it all already, adn now you're gonna take it easy.
Well, I must admit, we may drop back to fifty miles an hour with good reason.

Up to this age, you have been in life's fastest race. Now you can slow down
Hopefully, and let quality overtake quantity. A bit of reprieve you've found.
If you've let speed become your last word, you can rewrite.
Hopefully, some scenario that will allow some reflection as you write.

At fifty we've fulfilled our reproductive talents and got our children grown.
That's just the first part. How there are more chapters yet unknown.
Everyone's will be different, depending on yoru talents and what fate
Dishes out. You may even get to help your grandkids. Just wait!

Life moves on. Maybe that's good, since most of us can't stand
Standing still. We have all these wonderful hopes and dreams in our plans.
Usually, as long as we are being productive and using our talents,
We feel so fulfilled and creative. That gives us a good balance.

If life is kind ot you and you are kind to life, at age fifty
You're now looking ahead to fifty more, all those nifty
Goals that didn't get reached. You have learned so much,
