If I'd Been Born

If I had been born some other person than I was,
Would my values and opinions have been enough cause
To have made me other than I am today?
Would I have lived and learned another and a different way?

God sent us to the place and home that we needed as a proving ground
For lessons needed to advance our soul. I have found
There were some profound understanding and tolerance I had to learn
To teach my soul the depth of what it was I needed to learn.

And, oh how we object, considering all these needed handicaps
We really feel, "I definitely didn't need this grief." Perhaps
I could have accomplished much, much more if I had been
Born to a less stressful life! But God's grand blueprint guides me finally to win.
