I Can't Figure That

I've thought a lot, as years wear on, about some things
I just accepted in my life. All the upsets that life brings!
I've always understood about the differences existing between us all
Physically, temperamentally and spiritually. It's a personal call.

It strictly makes life interesting and keeps us really on our toes
And even with whatever excessive and obnoxious complexities, everyone knows
That this mixture is the grab bag which we face every day.
But the one thing that stymies me completely and always may:

Why is there a segment of our society that never change,
Whose greatest pleasure throughout life is hurting others. I find it strange
To deliberately hurt another or delight in another's sorrow.
When, someday, their day will be done, it's then they face their own tomorrow.
