I've Never Been...

A person to break my back and my life by pleasing others,
Like a matter of life and death that dictated my druthers,
But I have tried, always to cooperate with those same others
If it seemed the practical thing to do. That pretty well covers

My stance on cooperation. Taken to extremes, "cooperation" loses its meaning.
Its name changes in content and context. It becomes more like gleanings
Of a controlling person who feels important to have a couple of slaves around.

Well, you know the rest of the story - never turns out good,
Nor ever promotes what those "slavers" never understood.
Their ego trip took a wrong turn somewhere along the way,
And became the slave to "control," losing what love and life had to say.
