How Hectic Is Your Hectic?

We all have our own load limit, and it surely seems
Some are more adept than others at suppressing screams.
Certain circumstances can culminate in "Whoops, I forgot,"
Or running out of supplies in the middle of the "plot."

I probably could reel off a few you never met yet,
'Cause I am the world's best at overloading, and I bet
I could rattle off a few I doubt if you have ever met.
Also, I could introduce a whole litany of items that "fret."

In hindsight, it all looked so simple. But as this crisis is past,
"We're gonna do this thing different the last time, and the time before that.
When this occasion rolled around again, you did not learn. Most of us never do.
Is it because our daily lives are already filled with daily hectic, overloaded too?

I keep thinking out of the corner of my overloaded mind,
"All we need here is some extra hands. If we could afford and find
A reliable secretary, maid, cook, and errand person to help out,
I'd be so relieved, I'd let out a resounding shout.

When the occasion is past, you could feel so rewarded as you reflect
"It was heaven to all be together and I had time to visit and enjoy my precious guest."
I've also thought in some funny vien what our guest would do
If the head of the house had served big bowls of popcorn and platters of fruit.

I reckon we'd all have a lot more to discuss and more time to talk.
In face, some who came mostly for the meal may excuse themselves and take a walk.
My imagination has taken a turn, a little one, to the wild side.
So I'm gonna shut up and start planning for next time - just as soon as I decide.
