How Far Have You Come?

Remember this - the first day of school will be far advanced
When you reach the first day of college. We soon learn the dance
Of life! The more you learn, the harder the next term coming up.
No need to fret - you understand where you're headed as a "grown-up."

Each grade completed, each subject mastered will mean your next
Term will be more advanced yet. Do you throw a tantrum about the text?
"No!" You understand where you're going and this is the route,
So you accept the rocky road and travel on. That's what it's all about.

The higher you climb, the more you try for the longed-for "top."
If you stop now or fall back, you've then wasted your life. You do not stop.
Not everyone is so brave. We each are different and have different reasons
We grow weary and tired and give up the climb. Maybe another season.
