How Big A Dent

How big a dent has your life made on this old world,
Or even just a tiny little corner of your own world?
Most ordinary citizens feel so very insignificant in the overview.
What imprint has your life made on your world and you?

If your life was directed in a simpler fashion, you looked to those
In your own little world who taught and actually chose
The direction that was an option. So as I have adopted as my plan,
"Take what you've got, no matter how insignificant, and do what you can."

I guess what's the most confusing, you're always wanting to do more,
And in this life, sometimes, life can suddenly slam that door,
And you're frustrated, wondering where that dream went -
The one you had already dreamed and tagged "heaven-sent."
