Foresight And Hindsight

Foresight requires a repertoire of experience to even qualify,
So if we're too young to boast of a storehouse of the "live or die"
Situations, we feel disqualified to claim all that great foresight,
So we blunder on just praying our second guess is right.

But if you have any wisdom at all, you feel you can depend
On that old "20-20" hindsight which can really be quite a friend.
You're not likely to forget where you have "done been"
And that covers all your angelic episodes as well as your awful sins.

If these two "sights" are forever out of any balance
You may feel the need to scrutinize and now may regulate your talents
For a healthy and honest evaluation, may more evenly balance out all your sights -
The valuable foresight and the "whichever" hindsight!
