Each Day We Live
Each day we live is one less of the days we were given.
We all want to live a long life; by this desire we're driven.
We seldom consider that each day gone is one less left to live,
But we take each day as it comes, just giving all we have to give.
We seldom consider it one day less we have, but rather the joy of living it.
That's what life is really all about, we eventually do admit.
If, at age fifty, you were offered the chance to start over,
I doubt very much if you'd want that, even with the chance to do it over.
I do doubt that may, even those whose life has been "less-than,"
Would dare to take a chance again. They know that, at least they understand
What it's all about. So we just chug on along, singing the same old song,
And we accept who we've become on this journey, so long.
I've about decided it's not always how long you live,
Rather how you've lived with what you were given.
Sometimes it takes way too long to find your gift for our earth.
There was no label or instructions attached to you at birth.
We don't come with any warrantee, and no lease detailing our duration.
It is truly just walking by faith day by day, from our physical creation.
That's why we're admonished to utilize each moment of each day,
For that is all we have at any given moment of any precious day.
