Define The Title

Our world offers many titles, either inherited, inflicted, or acquired
And many attach such importance on this assumed badge of pride;
They become the title and lose themselves, in the truest sense
Never comprehending the paradox they are up against.

What profit be the title if it represents something you detest
And it may mean you are at another's mercy, more or less.
'Twould be more preferable to voice your own opinions
Than to find you are subject to a tyrant's dominion.

Maybe with some implied threat that to keep your title, you must
Acquiesce to their orders, to be in their shadow of disgust.
A worthy title that speaks for you and can honestly represent,
Then your title is no more a mockery but an honor, as was meant.

I can only assume that if you are the "head of the household" an
honorable title on your desk would most certainly be "Jack of all
trades," or if gender is a factor, "Jill of all trades."
