At The Corner Of

How many people live at this particular place - at the corner of
"Whatever" and "Wherever" but in their heart - it feels like the corner of "Hate" and "Love."
Oh, it started out - in their heart, as the corner of "Love" and "Love" but it seems
All the landmarks changed and then it no longer, to them, seemed

Like the great "landmark" of their lifetime. They now, hardly recognized
Where they lived! Harsh words, accusations and each, no longer tries
To restore that place where all was love and caring just a while ago -
For they, at this point, do not actually understand or even know

How they lost so much before they barely had gotten started.
The bitterness and harsh words have forever dulled the lustre, and "half hearted"
Is as close as they can come to "hope" to regain their Garden of Eden
At the corner of "What once was" and "what may now never again be."
