As I Faced The East

As I faced the east, just at dawn, I was taken by surprise!
I've seen sunrise for years and years but this one was a prize.
Along the horizon across the eastern sky was the most gorgeous sun
I believe I ever saw. Only seeing, could you imagine this breathtaking one.

It stretched the length - trimmed in the deep rose ribbons and pale pink lace,
Against the pale blue sky. How grateful I am to be here now, in this place!
And this was just the prelude to announce the miracle of the birth
Of another golden day of life for you and me - here on planet earth.

It sets the scene and tunes the tone of my new day. Similar to
The comfort of a mother's arms to console in security and tells you who
You are, in this picture, perfect and rare. It fills my heart with peace and gratitude -
Refreshing my perspective for this day and totally refurbishing my whole attitude.
