Approaching Autumn Again

In our region, we've been blessed with a mild August, almost like our September.
But that's O.K., for August is a dreaded month for its extremes. Come on September!
There have been some real hot days but not so bad we couldn't stand!
So I am counting up my summer blessings and praying for a repeat in next year's plan.

We got so much good rain without the dreaded bad storms, which was great!
The perfect sunny days and cooler cloudy days - none too extreme. But still I wait
For good ole Autumn time which is, without doubt, my favorite season.
And I suspect I am not alone in this choice - and for good reason.

It competes with Springtime for its blaze of brilliant colors on display
That speak to our hearts in their own style and in every possible way.
We explore the fairyland with every hue of reds, yellow and orange stretching everywhere -
So we bask in its warmth for cold, barren days will come, and only bareness will be there.
