And This Too Shall Pass Away
This statement puts all other statements in perspective.
It is not exactly unknown but not everyone is introspective
Concerning such a stated fact of life and fate
Where we learn the truth and the lengthy lessons of how we relate
To these truths within our heart. It's not always a natural acceptance for us here;
We learn to enjoy our time, share friendships and rise above our fear.
This space in time is only a fleeting manifestation of our total self
Where we experience life's offerings and utilize the lessons that are left,
Yet to be learned. Each mountain climbed, each valley that we walk has a reason.
Another piece of life's puzzle that will complete the picture in its own season.
Life is not some random happening, as we often feel when confronted every day
With weary trials and so few alternatives when we cry and pray.
This is our fleeting passage through this journey and to all the others who
Now understand, "This world is not our ultimate home, we're only passing through."
Take what you have and do what you can and profit from all mistakes and pain.
Try to leave this world a better place. Thus, your visit here was not at all in vain.
